Brooke Bui is a UX Research Fellow at University of Michigan - Center for Academic Innovation. Colleagues describe them as "Brooke did a great job this fall as a Shades Product Design intern, completing a 12-week part-time internship during the school year (September to November 2024). Brooke exceeded our expectations, showing a professionalism and work ethic that made for strong results, helping us generate novel product ideas for Shades and bring them to life with Figma UI/UX designs and interactive prototypes. Brooke’s work required creativity, attention to detail, and follow-through. Product Design for a consumer app requires thinking of innovative ways to engage users, an openness to both conventional and unconventional wisdom, and great attention to detail in order to execute ideas successfully. Brooke demonstrated all of these skills amply. In particular, Brooke accomplished the following: - Completed several rounds of product designs for discrete features and flows within the Shades app - Demonstrated a user-first mindset and strong design thinking skills to bring creative concepts to life in Figma - Consistently met deadlines, attended meetings, and brainstormed collaboratively with the rest of the group We loved having Brooke on the intern team; I recommend Brooke highly for any future positions in Design, UI/UX, or related fields."
