KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:— Playing a key contributing role in the preparation and delivery of lessons (theory and practical) for students with varying learning needs and abilities; deliver teaching in a manner whereby learning is promoted as a life- long experience.— Responsible for creating and maintaining a learning environment that is safe and nurturing of student well- being, whilst also being stimulating, motivating and exciting.— Mark work, providing appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students' progress and development.— Research new topic areas, maintain subject knowledge, and devise new curriculum materials.— Select and utilise a range of different learning systems, resources and equipment. Use the environment and hands on teaching techniques to make learning more interesting and engaging.— Manage student behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, including applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour. E.g., effectively resolved conflict between students and received positive feedback on the approaches used (feedback received by Prac. Supervisors).— Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school events. ACHIEVEMENTS:— Demonstrated exceptionally strong skills in diffusing conflicting situations between students, and commended on approach by Practical Supervisors.— To date, have formed trusting relationships with both students and staff, and on occasions been requested to come back to specific schools to teach.— Proven above average skills in preparing student assessments (formative, summative, etc.).
