I am a firm believer in using both sides of the brain. In earning my marketing and accounting degrees at the University of Mississippi, I have sharpened my analytical and creative skills and learned various aspects of the business environment. I have learned the value of considering unique perspectives and alternatives when problem-solving, and I enjoy seeking innovative solutions. My leadership roles at Ole Miss, two marketing jobs, and audit internship have prepared me for my future challenges and career opportunities.While I studied marketing and accounting, I consistently held a leadership role or job and became adept at balancing numerous commitments. One of my greatest challenges during my college career was my leadership role on my sorority’s executive committee. As the Honor Chairwoman, I led 400 women and acted as a liaison to the sorority’s national directors. I was required to enforce accountability of our members, organize and hold numerous weekly meetings, lead a committee of women in making important decisions, and complete exhaustive paperwork. This experience strengthened my communication skills, organization, adaptability, leadership, and public-speaking skills.My marketing work with SGI Threads and Community Mortgage helped me learn many foundational marketing skills. I worked on the various Social Media platforms; utilized Hootsuite; worked in Klaviyo and Seguno email marketing; improved my copywriting skills; worked with graphic design and photography; and planned content. I was also frequently challenged to develop creative approaches to address marketing and business concerns.My audit internship with KPMG allowed me to become proficient in Microsoft Office, strengthen my communication skills, and better understand the financial aspects of successful businesses. I faced long hours and high pressure to meet deadlines. I look forward to carrying the skills I learned during this work experience into my future jobs.
