I am an educator, Mom to 9 (some days more), and wife of 21 years to my childhood friend. My husband and I started a small nonprofit, Beautifully Inspired, that focuses on trauma informed, child and family centered care and education. Beautifully Inspired ran in our community for over 10 years when we made the choice to sunset it and pass the torch to others. My passions are my family, teaching, and bringing awareness to epilepsy and foster care.As an advocate for change in the foster care system, designing a child centered philosophy is what I would consider a necessity to our country. I feel strongly about meeting parents, teachers, and community members where their needs are at in regards to creating a trauma-sensitive environment. Furthermore, I support school programs that are STEAM centered. STEAM aligned programming allows students the ability to problem solve real-world problems while fostering creating thinking.
