Hello there! I am currently a social work student studying at Lakehead University in the beautiful city of Thunder Bay. Growing up, the only job requirement that I had was that I wanted to help people. I started this pursuit by gaining a diploma in Child and Youth Work from Georgian College. For my future employment, I intend to further my passion of supporting at risk children and youth. Throughout my educational career, I have been employed in a casual manner by multiple agencies in homeless shelters, education settings and respite care. This casual work highlights my flexibility and organizational skills. I have also been a volunteer as an In-School Peer Mentor with Big Brother Big Sister in both Orillia and Thunder Bay. In addition, I am a volunteer with Lakehead University through the Niijii Indigenous Mentorship Outreach Program and an International Student Peer Mentor. These roles continue to expand my knowledge regarding cultural diversity. Outside of my current studies and employment, my self-care activities include volunteering, hiking, camping, and spending time with my family and friends. A fun fact about me is that I grew up on a Dairy Farm in York Region. I value the responsibility that I learned at a young age through working on the farm. I am also a proud 4-H Ontario alumni member and alumni ambassador.
