I originate from Indianapolis, Indiana and after a lifetime of corn and flat terrain, a four year BFA at Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago, and an insatiable wanderlust, I made my way down under to the “dangerous” land of Australia on a Working Holiday Visa where i subsuquently was hired into my first tour guiding role with Mojo Surf.After the termination of my visa I jumped on a plane to try out authentic Pho and Curry in Southeast Asia. Some people believe in love at first sight, I don’t, but I do believe in love at first taste and after my first dish of the Philippine's sisig, I was hooked headline and sinker. So after a few e-mails and just a pinch of fairy dust, I was headed out to guide for One Life Adventures in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Japan and Indonesia!Four countries and a global pandemic later, I found myself in the mystical land of Virginia in the Jefferson National forrest leading children around the wild, rock climbing, white water kayaking, canoeing, and finding every creative way to eat peanut butter. If you've heard of backcountry cookie butter yet...you're welcome.There really is no place like home and my wandering feet led me back to my roots, back to the Windy City. For the past three years I have lead Food Tours both by bike and by foot for Bobby's BIke Hike. I have lead the famous architectural tours on board Shoreline SIght Seeing's impressive fleet. I also spent a summer exploring my own backyard leading multi-day cultural tours with Intrepid Travels.What I really gained out of these last three years was the appreciation to to become an expert in one place. My first years of guiding taught me to be flexible and to quickly adapt to new countries, cultures, and guest expectations. My last three have taught me how to delve deep into understanding the nuances of a particular place. In the next chapter I am searching for a position that will allow me to continue my skills as a guide in the Southwest. I am eager to fall in love with a new places history, flora and fauna, and its people. Every day is a precious gift.
