My responsibilities include the oversight of staff consisting of five to seven employees, depending upon shift, while running and operating up to 6 different kitchens in a day. I am responsible for training of newly hired employees while maintaining proper efficiency, customer service, health and safety standards at the operation. The ASUCD Coffee House is a fast paced work environment that serves hundreds of customers per day with roughly 300 employees in total.

I implement designs that my student coordinators have made by planting drought tolerant plants and trees on various locations in UC Davis such as the Library, Everson Hall, and Geology and Physical Sciences Building. I have learned about California Native plants, drought tolerant plants, and getting more hands on experience for designing new plots.

I perform on site plant cuttings and divisions to be sent for propagation. I also prepare the plants for plant sales in the fall and spring. I have learned about nursery management skills such as irrigation, weeding of plants, and greasing and airing carts for customers.
