In this position with KBR, I worked for the USSOCOM Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program at Kirtland Air Force Base. As the Cognitive Enhancement Practitioner, I ran a cognitive assessment and enhancement program for Special Operators. This program included qEEG assessments, cognitive testing, neurofeedback and biofeedback training, and cognitive training.

My primary role as a research scientist was in the development and validation of new applications for QUASAR and Wearable Sensing's dry sensor technologies, including research grade EEG headsets. Notable projects included wearable sensor suites to quantify physiological signals in military pilots, and a closed-loop tDCS system to improve cognitive performance.

My research at UC Davis utilized multiple techniques to investigate neural oscillations in cognitive performance. The primary goal of this research was to understand the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive function, and the ultimate aim was to develop cognitive enhancement protocols to optimize performance in healthy adults and improve deficits in patients with brain disorders. One study implemented transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in patients with schizophrenia to determine effects on memory performance, cognitive control, and changes in neural oscillatory patterns (measured by EEG). Other lines of research included transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) and audio visual entrainment to investigate the role of theta oscillations in memory performance.

My research at the Center for Neuroscience investigated the neural underpinnings of human working memory and cognitive performance, as measured by EEG and fMRI.

My research at Yale University investigated the interactions between dopamine and glutamate in prefrontal function and primate working memory. These preclinical models implemented both behavioral pharmacology and PET imaging studies, and included translational work with relevance to cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia.
