Bringing conservation education to elementary school students in the Pasadena Unified school district through interactive classroom visits and half day field trips that help develop an awareness and appreciation of our local birds and their habitat.

Working to protect, maintain, and enhance post fire/flood restoration of Monrovia Canyon Park (closed) and the surrounding Hillside Wilderness Preserve. Collaborating to design curriculum for our Jr Naturalist program, city outreach events, and providing customer service and staff support for community events.

My responsibilities include: developing and writing integrated curriculum with a focus on math& art and science & art; data analysis, leading planning and feedback meetings with school district teachers; conducting professional development presentations for teachers participating in arts integration; organizing & installing student exhibitions; demonstrating and supervising art making methods; classroom behavior management; directing and collaborating with assistants; mentoring in the fellowship train-ing program; communicating strengths and weaknesses of the programming to my supervisors; attending train-ing sessions, and independently continuing my education in arts integration, methods of teaching, childhood development, and art instruction.

Arts instructor for the Getty’s art@thecore program; a partnership and professional development program with the 5th grade teachers and students of LAUSD Leo Politi Elementary. My role is to collaborate with the LAUSD teachers and key members of the Getty staff to create a language arts integrated curriculum in line with the common core. Weekly development meetings as well as classroom implementation and Getty field trips over the course of several semesters will culminate in a finely honed curriculum that integrates key Getty works into the language arts curriculum of the 5th grade.

My responsibilities included: curriculum de-velopment, student exhibitions, managing assistants, classroom behavior management, working one on one with students to brainstorm, problem solve, explore techniques and document finished projects.
