Within my life, especially in my work, I place an emphasis upon being a connector, service, and adaptability.Connector: From working in customer service jobs, I have developed the ability to connect with people on a deeper level quickly. I only had a short amount of time to make a positive impact on someone’s day, so I learned how to make that time count. I love connecting with people and hearing their stories/ideas, and also being able to share mine. Working in collaboration with others helps everyone succeed, so I work to bring people together in everything I do.Service: I have always been involved in service activities within my community, but one that stands out is when I served as the Large Program leader in the elementary school section of my church. While this position taught me how to lead a team of 10 volunteers, perform in front of a large audience, and create an engaging/fun environment for kids to learn in, the most rewarding aspect was seeing that I got to make an impact in the lives of nearly 80 kids every Sunday for 3 years. It is hard to get kids excited about learning, but as a result of my teaching kids were excited to come to church each week and learn more about their faith.Adaptable: Going into my sophomore year of high school, I moved from Illinois to Ohio. While this was a big change, it taught me to adapt to my surroundings and make the most out of the situations you are given. Having this skill has allowed me maneuver my way through difficult situations within every area of life.These skills/trait propel me within my professional career to thrive in all situations and at any position.
