In my previous positions as Ready to Work and America's Promise Grant Project Manager, I was able to harness my relationship-building skills and leadership skills to facilitate connections between educators and industry to catalyze the formation of these grant initiatives to serve over 2,000 individuals since May 2015, throughout a 12-county region.

Region 4 Workforce Board has received a $7.6 million four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) for advanced manufacturing training and work-based learning activities for those who have experienced a period of long-term unemployment. The RTW grant will support and scale-up innovative partnerships between employers, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and the WorkOne system to build a pipeline of talented workers. The goal is to help those experiencing long-term unemployment gain access to employment services that provide opportunities to return to work in middle- and high-skill jobs in advanced manufacturing. The grant is a collaborative effort with employer partners, SIA, Caterpillar, Fiat Chrysler, Wabash National, Kirby Risk, voestalpine Rotec Inc., and education/training partner, Purdue Polytechnic-Lafayette (SIA Training Center).
