Improved cash flow by over $300,000. • Designed tools to allow automated unit testing of legacy code. Trained team on unit testing and using the new tools.• Upgraded existing PIN pad interface to work with the Verifone MX915 PIN pads. Provided developer support for MX915 rollout.• Participated in upgrading the POS to work with a newer Windows version. This included upgrading C++ COM DLLs to work with updated 3rd party libraries. This included the following major steps in the products life:-Upgraded the system from 16bit to 32bit Visual FoxPro.-Migrated the system from an older unsupported framework to a modern framework. This involved developing an adaption layer to allow the older code to work with the newer framework with significantly less change.-Migrated the system to C#. Designed and implemented classes to allow .NET User Controls to be embedded in the legacy system. This allowed users to get new functionality, as modules were finished, without having to wait for a complete .NET system.-Began migrating the system from WinForms to WPF using MVVM design pattern.Oversaw development of numerous HL7 and ANSI X12 4010 interfaces.Introduced automated unit testing to the project.Met with customers to discuss product satisfaction. Gathered feature requests.Created a knowledge base for the support department containing over 100 articles.Planned the roll out of each new version. This involved updating as many as 400 client sites. It also involved designing and implementing a workstation update method where each workstation updated its self from the server. No IT specialist ever had to go from workstation to workstation to update them.
