After 25 years of doing business, Jeff Roper allowed me to take over Roper Automotive. He will be mentoring and teaching me about the business to help reduce his capacity. This will allow Jeff to enjoy his semi retirement days while ensuring the business to continue. Nothing will change other than the business name. His mechanic, Mike, will be joined by Luis my partner who is also a mechanic. This will help with turn around time to get our customers back on the road. I am looking forward to this new endeavor and will continue the reputation that Roper Automotive has built in this community.

The Spencer Companies owns and operates 30 convenience stores in North Alabama and Birmingham. MinitMan Food Stores sell Shell and Marathon branded fuels. I have supervised 10 stores along with QSR and liquor. In charge of maintaining inventory control, company policies, budgets, labor and HR policies and procedures. I wrote the vendor policy for The Spencer Companies and educated our managers on vendor procedures.Cash audits are required every week by the district manager's. District managers are responsible for manager evaluations and disciplinary actions as well. I have fired manager's and hired/promoted manager's too. Some of our stores have deli's and Subway restaurants, which have allowed me to be educated in the food service industry as well. I am familiar with ServeSafe as I was once certified. I understand food cost, margins, and inventory control. I have dealt with vendor contracts and know how to negotiate. The key to operating these multiunit businesses is having the proper people in place. You must be able to train your employees properly and give them the proper tools to accomplish goals set. Creating a culture where the employee's are on board is very instrumental for the success of the company. During the first 6 years as a supervisor I had some of the most successful stores in the company and was the top producing supervisor per bonuses. I made sure my employees understood that we were a team and it took everyone working together for these things to happen. I know people and what it takes to have them produce at their best. Keeping up with trends and market change is a everyday process and staying one step ahead is what separates you from the competition. Maintaining the text marketing campaign, website promotions and our commercial fuel network (CFN). CFN allows businesses to control fuel purchases, save money, and get reporting on MPG. This helps streamline their fleet of vehicles while saving time and money.

In charge of new sales and maintaining current accounts. My territory covers thirteen routes from columbus ga. and surrounding areas to north fl. Set up new accounts with marketing tools and displays. Also reset corporate accounts and handle any customer complaints. Building a relationship with district managers and store managers to insure product quality and in store supply. Understanding the retail and margins in different markets to insure growth in sales. Call on local businesses and corporate accounts for increased sales. Must have a relationship with the route men to insure customer service and the basic goals of product loss. Communication is the key to building a sound operation. These skills come from running a successful milk route for four years and understanding customer/store needs on an individual basis. Markets and products fluctuate at different times and you must be able to adjust in order to capture maximum sales and cut losses.

In charge of daily inventory of fifty or more different products and maintain 50+ accounts. Control ordering and dump for these accounts while keeping less than 1 percent of dump on the whole route. Possess great customer relationships while time management must be maintained to run an productive route. There is a lot of responsibility involved in maintaining these accounts. Product must be available in order for sales to progress while keeping a minimum amount of wastes. I also have my class B CDL.
