I hold the AMS & NWA seals after my post-grad certification in Meteorology at MSU and a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts at Mass Art. I was born in Georgia, grew up in New England and have since lived in four distinct climate regions of the US, following my career. I’m an expert in Florida and southern climate, with over 17yrs forecasting professionally in this specific weather zone of the US. Personally covered and impacted by: 2023’s Hurricane Idalia, 2022’s Hurricanes Ian and Nicole in FL, and 2017’s Hurricane Harvey in Houston. I'm also the only TV meteorologist to have flown into the eye of 2012's Hurricane Sandy, aboard a NOAA P3 airplane, a system thought to be the worst in modern NY/NJ history.
