Ebony Cactus was one of the first minority ( African American) owned completely online magazines in the USA and the first of its kind in Arizona where it is based. Readership exceeded over 100,000 monthly. The demographic focus is placed primarily on Arizona, but included information on Nevada and California Business and Lifestyle. The magazine went into reconstruction and re-branding based on the needs of its audience and later was redistributed as a Cuisine, Culture and Couture magazine, then spun off 2 other online magazines Nxt Horizon and SW-GREEN. Nxt Horizon focused on minority business, contracting with government agencies and diversity issues and policies. SW-GREEN focused solely on sustainability (GREEN). All three publications are award winners for their depth, intuitiveness and breakthrough reporting and research. Producing and distributing Podcasts and Internet radio ( CACTUS Internet Radio) are also firsts for the organization.
