Full Stack Engineer And Aws Architect ContractorHealth Scholars Sep 2023 - PresentWestminster, Health Scholars Main Office, UsAs a passionate full-stack engineer working part time I'm aware of the time limitations and therefore strive to provide the most value in the amount of time that I have available. My mission is to set up cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) so that other developers can utilize the cloud without needing to pay for extra time.Since I was previously full time with Health Scholars and helped build all of the web services and architecture I'm the go-to person for debugging and helping resolve any issues that pop up. I'm setting up systems to help detect issues, as well an in-production testing to catch problems before they happen so I can fix them before customers find them. -
Web Services Team LeadHealth Scholars Jun 2019 - Sep 2023Westminster, Health Scholars Main Office, UsI had two main goals while working this role. To create a great team environment that fostered high quality with speed together so that the company could experiment on their value streams while at the same time keeping everyone on the team happy, healthy, and passionate.I learned a lot in this role, especially around leadership and how we can work fast, have fun, and not have overtime all at the same time. I'm always happy to talk about this so if you catch me on Discord or my stream please feel free to ask about engineering leadership and how we can make a real difference. -
Full Stack EngineerApto Aug 2018 - Apr 2019Denver, Colorado, UsDuring this role I began to implement my practice of leading from behind. I was an individual contributor who was creating features but also was working with the team lead, and department lead to help grow the team into a high performance team. We were able to get the pieces in place (culture of error, growth mindsets, tracking data) but ultimately left before I could finish growing this outside of the team. -
Lead InstructorGalvanize Inc Nov 2015 - Aug 2018Boulder, Colorado, UsGalvanize is where I learned how education and learning really works. I was fortunate to work on an amazing team that had a mixture of educators, engineers, and mentors who taught me how to teach, lead a classroom, lead a team, and ensure that the students got the outcomes that they were paying for.Galvanize (and most bootcamps) aren't what they used to be anymore. But I'm trying to continue my education journey on Twitch, YouTube, and my own courses now. -
