I’m a senior research chemist with more than 10 years of experience in the development of flexible polyurethane coatings for automotive, textile, paper, and leather industries. I have a MSc in Polymer chemistry and a PhD in Organic chemistry. In December 2014 I was promoted to Green Technology Chemist. In this pioneering position it is my job to scope, develop, initiate and catalyse sustainable projects within global R&D. The topic of sustainability is broad, but reoccurring `keywords´ are: renewable carbon (biomass, CO2 and recycling), compostability, circular economy, emission reduction and the replacement of toxic chemicals and processes. The constant drive of Stahl to reduce the environmental footprint of its products requires us to move away from traditional chemistry and think outside the box. In most cases it is not enough to look direct replacements and therefore collaboration with other pioneers in the field of sustainable chemistry are required. Only via collaboration we find solutions for encountered challenges. As research group leader renewable chemistry I lead a team of specialised chemist to help us to reach the goals of Stahl. In my spare time I combine my creativity and people skills in my passion for portrait photograph which I perform on a semi-professional level.
