As part of a small consultancy firm I specialised in applying my experience of Business Service Management using ITIL and ISO/IEC 20000, implementing strategic change and business transformation, and ensuring adoption and embedding of change throughout organisations. A key and broad leadership role ensuring Service Operations (a department that has accountability for all live Vodafone UK Technology services) has the capability, level of performance and efficiency to meet the current and future requirements agreed with the business.Provide thought leadership across the business for service management philosophy (utilising ITIL v3 and ISO/IEC20000). Delivery of the transformation programme to build and embed the service management 'ecosystem' necessary to support strategic business imperatives; this included deployment of Remedy solution to 2800 user base for Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Led activities on a service management change programme that introduced structure and cultural change to support the evolution of an organisation from being technology focussed towards having a service and customer focus.

Overall responsibility in Vodafone UK for all RAN (Radio Access Network) network management solutions to ensure benefits realisation as well as ownership for radio network information production.

After graduating from university I joined Vodafone as an Engineer and quickly became aware of the opportunity to use automation and IT more effectively to improve efficiency and solve problems within the Radio Network domain. I became a critical interface between the IT suppliers and the Engineering department ensuring that system solutions were delivered in a timely manner to meet customer needs.My ability to understand technology and improve on existing business process was key to allow the successful development of many solutions that still play a critical role in managing and optimising the Vodafone network.

Evaluation of call failure categories produced from automatic call generators used in the OFTEL trials between Vodafone and Cellnet. Development of software tools to optimise both the TACS and GSM networks by analysis of Data Transcript were written using C, FORTRAN and DCL scripts on both UNIX and VAX platforms. These short placements provided early opportunities within Vodafone to demonstrate my innovation and drive for results in the area of Network Management.
