Senior Content & Editorial Lead
Current
International Digital Content Manager
Responsible for the digital content strategy and content management across our digital platforms and channels, I have played an integral role in shaping the digital experience for our student audience.
International Marketing Officer
As International Marketing Officer my role was to promote study opportunities at the University of Auckland to prospective international students in our key markets worldwide. My key focus was digital marketing strategy and campaign execution.
International Communications And Liaison Officer
As part of the University of Auckland’s International Marketing and Business Development team, I developed, edited and managed all marketing collateral (digital and print), and communications campaigns for the recruitment of international students to the university. I worked with our Business Development team and other recruitment staff to ensure marketing collateral was fit for purpose, and consulted with faculties, service divisions and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of content. I managed the University’s international-student targeted web content, EDM campaigns and print collateral to attract and nurture leads, and drive conversion through to enrolment.
Marketing And Communications Manager
My role was to manage and market the Ed. Collective brand experience across our website, social media and campus-specific channels. I also supported the teams delivering our student media and events services – everything from an online magazine, on-campus social activities and sporting tournaments, to an Experience NZ programme offering cultural and adventure tourism experiences for students. Before Ed. Collective was founded from the USU Students' Association, I worked in the same role for the students' association. I was fully immersed in the transition and rebranding activities.
International Programme Coordinator
I developed, marketed and delivered an events programme with an aim to help students settle in to life in a new country, learn about and experience Māori culture, and create connections and friendships, while experiencing some uniquely New Zealand locations and activities. As well as being an event manager and tour guide, I loved that this role allowed me to work on marketing strategy and excercise my creativity. I took photographs and created short video clips to use in marketing collaterial - including online/social media. The programme was also promoted offshore on recruitment trips to help attract new students. In the two-and-a-half years I was in this role, the programme always ranked among the top student services in the institute’s annual student satisfaction survey.
Zipline Guide
WildPlay is high-ropes adventure park similar to Zip Trek in Queenstown, or Tree Adventures in Auckland. As an Activities Guide, my role was to lead groups of up to ten through a course of “ziplines”. I was responsible for the safety and enjoyment of customers as they harnessed up, clipped in to a pulley system, and “zipped” along at speeds of up to 100km/hr across wires stretched high over a mountain valley. The skills I practiced in this role and in other outdoor education/adventure roles I have had, have been very useful my career in marketing, and include group management, public speaking and communication.
Ski Instructor
In 2009 I took a gap year to follow my interests in travel and outdoor education. I trained to become a qualified ski and snowboard instructor and worked for a season at Nakiska Alpine Resort in the Canadian Rockies. As an instructor I taught all ages from 3-years to adult, one-on-one and in groups. I worked with and taught people from all around the world.
Editorial Assistant
I worked for the Custom Publishing division of Fairfax Magazines. We produced magazines and other publications for corporate clients. As an Editorial Assistant I wrote articles for a range of these publications, and edited and proofread copy with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, which often put us ahead of schedule on print deadlines.
