Director Of Academic Operations/Dean Of AcademicsAnthem College Aug 2009 - Apr 2012Atlanta, Ga/Nashville, TnDuring my tenure with Anthem Education Group I have met many milestones. When I was hired as the Dean of Education at the Nashville Campus in 2009, the campus was below Retention benchmarks that were set by the Corporate Education Department. After analyzing the many issues that the Education Department was having, I set clear plans for all instructors and Program Chairs to make changes and to increase the Education/student involvement. The Retention rate exceeded the corporate benchmarks, and the Education Department received an award for Retention and excellent achievement. I also won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2009 for my achievements. Once I was chosen to be the Dean of Academics at the Atlanta Campus, I worked vigorously to prepare the campus for opening. After the campus opened, the Atlanta Campus had the highest Retention rates in the company for my entire tenure. Although the campus had a small student population, the student satisfaction was high, and the retention exceeded expectations. As the Director of Academic Operations (DAO), there were no procedures in place for the position. Previously, the DAO visited campuses that were in Retention trouble and campuses that have problems in the Education Department. After spending several months in the position, I made several changes to ensure effectiveness. I set up a Dean’s Checklist for Deans to complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and yearly tasks to ensure that all required tasks are completed. I have adopted a new training for new Deans that include a week long training that covers the training agenda.
