As an executive in the Australian Public Service for more than 25 years I have a reputation for successful delivery across a wide range of government activities - particularly in the fields of competition, consumer protection, utility access regulation, policy development, organisational governance and international negotiation and capacity building.I am currently consulting in the Asia-Pacific region on competition and consumer law and policy and regulatory practice. I'm a critical thinker who enjoys working with people to solve complex problems. I have expertise in all aspects of policy and legislative development – particularly in the areas of competition and consumer law.I have a proven track record delivering complex projects – for instance (from its inception in mid-2018 to Jan 2020) I led the ACCC's implementation of the government's Consumer Data Right project that allows consumers to secure share their banking data. I am passionate about, and have extensive experience, working with international partners. For instance, I have: coordinated the development and delivery of a capacity building program for ASEAN competition authorities; negotiated the competition chapter of a multilateral free trade agreement; and represented Australia/ACCC at numerous high level international meetings. I am familiar with public sector risk management and compliance frameworks and modern regulatory and enforcement structures and practices. I have a strong track record leading empowered teams, developing talent and contributing positively to organisational culture. I am personable, collaborative and enjoy helping people find common ground or compromise.
