Ran for office, in my beloved, innovative and beautiful small town of Fairfax - and on November 7 was elected, actually with the highest number of votes in a contentious 6-person race for three seats! Having worked with the town for years on the General Plan, Climate Action Plan and Climate Action Committee, and as a Planning Commissioner, I was asked by many to run for an open seat on the Town Council. As a first-time candidate there's been quite a learning curve, but I've been loving it, especially walking door-to-door for over a month having long and amazing conversations with hundreds of people. I hope to guide the town toward ever more creative ways to address the serious issues of our time, as we transform our way of living to meet the challenges and opportunities around transportation, energy, community and climate.

This committee created the first drafts of all elements of the General Plan for this 7500-person town. Involved citizen outreach, work with numerous consultants and the town staff, Planning Commission and Town Council. The Plan was adopted in final form in 2011.

Primary contributions included all computer instrumentation and process control, encapsulation system development, and innovations in semiconductor device physics. During this time the company operated with an entire staff of 8-10 people, and by 1991 Photon Energy had been awarded the R&D 100 Award for developing one of the most significant technical products of the year.
