Bruce Barker has over 25 years’ experience evaluating the scope and validity of patents, including preparing formal noninfringement/invalidity opinion letters and defending those opinions in deposition. His experience spans a wide range of technologies, including all aspects of computer architecture and networking protocols, mass spectrometry, DNA sequencing, microfluidics, radiation therapy, medical imaging, semiconductor fabrication, image processing, cryptography, and data compression.Mr. Barker has many years’ experience litigating patents in districts courts and at the International Trade Commission while he was a partner at Pennie & Edmonds LLP and at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP. He also has litigated patent validity in Patent Office inter partes review proceedings. Before his legal career, Mr. Barker earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and worked as an engineer, designing microprocessor-based circuits and writing software for complex test equipment.
