As a graduate of Coleman College, I started my career in field service in California with AVW Electronics. I served as senior FSE in San Diego, Area Supervisor in Central CA (3 reports), Manager of the depot level repair station in LA (7 reports), & Lead test technician in the QA section. I was with Conceptronic for five years. I then joined MPM corporation in 1995 as an FSE, staying with the company through it's transition to Speedline as a division of the Cookson Electronics group. I was promoted several times and served as the acting area service manager (13 reports) during the transition to a single service and support unit, bringing together the support divisions of MPM, Electrovert and Camalot under the Speedline banner. I became the Strategic accounts supervisor, responsible directly to sales and management for support of key accounts throughout the western US, Asia, Mexico and Canada. When Cookson divested the equipment group, I was retained by Cookson, and joined the Materials Division with Alpha Metals as a regional applications engineer, providing technical support for five sales regions working dierctly with regional sales managers. I also supported R & D of new product, supporting laboratory and field testing of many different products, During my last two years at Alpha Metals, I concentrated exclusively on the transition to lead-free manufacturing techniques, presenting to customers throughout the US and Canada. I was with MPM-Cookson for 12 years. When laid off by Alpha, I opened my own business (Bruce Barton Consultation). As a result of my consultation with Esterline/BVR, I was offered a full time salaried position with BVR. FPY went from <5% to >95%. I managed the entire electronics assembly group with 12 reports. After BVR I was rehired by Alpha as a CTS engineer, specializing in all process' related to PCB assembly. I was hired in 2012, and again laid off in January 2017, working exclusively on consulting services throughout North America.
