Department management duties include:Managed departmental budget of $950,000 and goals and revenue of $3.2 million.Supervise five direct reports, managing a 20-member staff.Hire direct reports and supervise all other hiring.Work closely with management teams across Hazelden organization to plan and carry out annual National Advisory Council conference. Development functions comprised: major gifts, planned giving, events and annual fund solicitation. Solely responsible for planning and executing short-and long-term solicitation strategies:Take part in establishing funding priorities for organization.Develop case for support.Articulate need to multiple constituencies.Identify major donors and prospects among corporations, foundations, and individuals.Set annual and three-year financial goals.Manage research and identification of Hazelden's prospect and donor base.Involve volunteer leaders in solicitation process.Manage and coordinate fundraising activities of National Advisory Council, 150 high-profile advisors who represent Hazelden in major population centers across the country. Accomplishments include:Garner board support for funding and develop comprehensive, long-term planned giving program.Financial results:- Achieved steady growth of donors providing gifts of $5,000 and above. - Planned gift expectations increased 30 percent over a two year period.- Cost-to-raise-a-dollar steadily declined to a level of $.15.- Development activities represented 45 percent of Hazelden's net income.Assist in coordination, planning and implementation of $16 million campaign initiative to support programs and services at Hazelden's Minnesota facilities.Select to represent marketing sales division on president's corporate planning team, charged with strategic planning for the organization.Achieve personal goal each year, securing more than $4.5 million in cash and pledges and $3 million in deferred gifts over last two years.
