Bruce’s background incorporates more than 25 years of investment markets experience. As Partner, Head of Equities at Mutual Trust he is responsible for a Thematic, High-Conviction International Equity Portfolio for Australia's largest multi-family office group. He also oversees Mutual Trust’s Australian Equity Portfolio and trading desk operations, managing a highly skilled, experienced and diversified team.He has previously managed 3 Australian Equity Portfolios (including a Long/Short Australian Equity fund and Socially Responsible Fund) for Perpetual Investments, and also served as Head Equity Dealer during his 7 years with Perpetual. Bruce exhibited a strong track record of outperformance and fund raising during this tenure, as well as undertaking numerous public speaking engagements and published commentaries.As Managing Director and Founding Partner of Budding Investments Pty Ltd, a Pan-Asian Macro investment group, Bruce signed a seeding deal and equity joint venture with an Australian listed financial company for the intended launch of a Macro hedge fund specialising in currency, bond, commodity and equity investments in Japan, Asia and Australia. In addition to his asset management background, Bruce has held senior executive directorships with global investment banks in Singapore, maintaining a client list that includes sovereign wealth funds, family offices, hedge funds and major global mutual funds throughout Australia, Asia, and the United States. Responsibilities included trading throughout the Asian region, providing investment recommendations to institutional investment groups, placing multiple IPO’s and Secondary raisings, and leading equity teams in a senior management capacity. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Economics awarded by Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.He is a member of the Australian Golf Club, Sydney, and is a previous recipient of the Caltex Award for Outstanding Academic and Sporting achievement.
