I am currently a Consultant Land Advisor at Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa | Outdoor Access Commission, working remotely. (I retired (Feb 2023) from the position of Senior Legal Executive at The Property Group Limited (TPG), based in the Napier office. My new role revolves around the many types of public access to the outdoors in NZ — (walkways, unformed legal roads, marginal strips and esplanade reserves beside water, and more). Most of the time you will just want to know if there is public access or not. But if you want more detail about your access rights, we can answer your question too.At Hereanga ā Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission, creates and sustains public access to the outdoors. We work with communities and across statutory boundaries.Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission, is the Crown agency protecting and enhancing public access to the outdoors for everyone in New Zealand — walkers, mountain bikers, anglers, horse riders, landholders, trail runners and more.We envision a comprehensive and safe network of tracks and trails across New Zealand, accessible from big cities and small towns, as well as our wilder places.I have expert technical expertise on cadastral data that may require historical research, land status reports, land ownership analysis, and the legislation, that governs land use and more in particular, public access. Additional services include Overseas Investment Act 2005 Certificates and specialist consultancy advice on the impact of Crown reserves for Territorial Local Authorities and Client organisations, regarding public access.Historically I was a LINZ Accredited Agent, being a specialist for statutory government clients, and legal matters that relate to land issues in New Zealand. This former role together with my knowledge and experience provides a very focused data set of skills, to now assist with Public access issues.
