Started my own shop in 1984 working out of 2 bays Moved to larger 3 bay shop in 1993,opened 2nd location in 1998 as a Drive Clean Facility part of the new Government emissions testing program .I worked on focus group (for 2 years)with government officials to assist in the launch and promotion of the new program speaking to shop owners across Ontario. Eccles Auto Service was the Service Station & Garage Management magazine 2001 “Garage of the Year” for Canada Two of our top techs have competed in the AC Delco’s Technician of the Millenium .And we have had a Tech in all 3 finals. In the semi finals we were the first shop to have two techs competing against each other. In 2005 our top tech was named “Canadian Technician of the Year” By Canadian Technician magazine. Eccles Auto Service received a property beautification award by the City of Hamilton which was the first time ever awarded to a garage In 2007 we opened our 3rd location and is it was managed by my son Scott Eccles Auto service has been featured in every major Canadian trade magazine and we are noted for our progressive approach to the industry since 1984 with Ladies Car Care Clinics,Mobile Child seat installation,Ladies referral club,clean comfortable waiting areas with wireless for those who want to work while they wait! now EV chargers on site and trained technicians to service them.But most importantly we diagnose & repair vehicles well. I have written and continue to write columns for the various magazines. I have spoken on many occasions to Manufacturers,distributors,shop owners and high school students across Canada & the U.S. I am currently on the AARO Board as vice President and have worked with the local college as part of the apprenticeship program and MOE with their Drive Clean Program. l am Rotary Club member and past president Eccles Auto Service is a major contributor to local sports and community events.
