Chairman of Vanderbilt’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for oversight of the University’s endowment, currently in excess of $10 billion in size, from July 2012 to June 2017 and Investment Committee member since 1998. Member of the founding Board of Directors of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center after its 2016 spinoff from Vanderbilt University and member of the Vanderbilt Board of Trust Medical Center Advisory Committee that helped structure that spinoff. Chairman of the search committee responsible for the recruitment and appointment of Vanderbilt's ninth Chancellor in 2019. Analog Devices is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of a broad portfolio of high performance analog, mixed signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits used in virtually all types of electronic equipment. With over over 100,000 customers worldwide, Analog's signal processing products play a fundamental role in converting, conditioning, and processing real-world phenomena such as temperature, pressure, sound, light, speed, and motion into electrical signals to be used in a wide array of electronic devices used in the industrial, automotive, communications, and consumer markets. Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Wilmington, Massachusetts, Analog had revenues of $12 billion per year in 2023 and an an equity market capitalization of over $90 billion. The company recently completed the acquisitions of the Linear Technology Corporation and of Maxim Integrated.

Fuel cards and other specialized payments products. Served as Chairman, Compensation and Governance Committee and member, Acquisition Committee during entirety of board term. Company completed 50+ acquisitions between 2002 and 2014. Revenues grew from $34 million in 2002 to $1.2 billion in 2014. Completed IPO in 2010. Trades on the NYSE under the symbol FLT. Equity market capitalization of $13.5 billion at time of departure from board in November 2014.

Online stock and options broker. Completed IPO in 2005. Traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol OXPS. Acquired by Charles Schwab for approximately $1 billion in 2011.

High performance integrated circuits for communications applications. Director from 2001 to 2008. Completed IPO in 2005. Traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol HITT. Acquired by Analog Devices in July 2014 for $2.4 billion. Hittite had revenues of approximately $30 million at the time of Summit’s investment in 2000.

Network and application performance management software. Director from 1997 to 2003. Completed IPO in 2000. Traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol OPNT. OPNET was generating approximately $12 million in annualized revenues at the time of Summit Partners’ 1997 investment and was acquired by Riverbed Technologies for $1 billion in 2012.

Neonatology and perinatology physician practice management. Director from 1992 to 1999. Revenues of $15 million at the time of Summit’s 1992 investment. Completed an IPO in 1995 as Pediatrix Medical Group. Originally traded on the NYSE under the symbol PDX, now trades under the symbol MD. The company’s current revenues exceed $1.9 billion and its equity market cap exceeds $1 billion.

Acquisition roll-up of nephrology practices and kidney dialysis services providers. Director from 1990 to 1995. Renal Treatment Centers’ revenues were $18 million at the time of Summit Partners’1990 investment. Completed IPO in 1993 and traded on the NYSE under the symbol RXT. Sold to Total Renal Care, later renamed DaVita, for $1.2 billion in 1998.

Business intelligence software. Director from 1991 to 1994. IMRS completed its’ IPO in 1991 and traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol IMRS. IMRS changed its name to Hyperion Software in 1995 and later changed its name to Hyperion Solutions (NASDAQ: HYSL). At the time of Summit’s 1991 investment the company had $34 million in revenues. Sold to Oracle for a $3.3 billion valuation in 2007.

Sold mainframe computers and other hardware, software and services to large organizations. Developed and implemented national account marketing strategies for territory which included General Electric’s Major Appliance Business Group and the Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation. Achieved IBM Hundred Percent Club 1982 and 1983.
