CurrentMy progressive roles at Gilead Sciences culminated in my current leadership position as Executive Director of Medical Affairs for Global Liver Diseases. Reporting to the VP of Global Medical Affairs and managing 15 global employees based in the EU and US, I am accountable for the medical planning and medical content for HCV, HBV, NASH, and PSC. I connect with international KOLs on a peer basis to develop plans to execute public health initiatives and patient education programs. I also collaborate with my intercontinental colleagues on data generation, health economics, scientific communications, and medical content creation.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 – Initiated a strategic RFP process to submit and approve investigator-sponsored trials. This process—now a standard operating procedure across therapeutic areas—significantly increased the scope and quality of clinical trial proposals by taking a proactive approach in the ISRs that Gilead supports. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH: Engaged with in-country staff to interface with policy makers and health ministries to enact new policies surrounding liver disease elimination. PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: Co-chair HCV Lifecycle Committee to ensure long-term strategic cross-functional plans aligned to unmet patient medical needs. AI / MACHINE LEARNING FOR HCV SCREENING: Initiated and launched an AI/Machine Learning algorithm that identifies likely candidates, expected to reduce the number needed to be screened by 10-25-fold.
