Focused on enabling growth and sales revenue in one division while maximizing profitability in challenging market conditions in another division.  Restructured commercial organizations for 2 divisions. Launched first global employee handbook to bring consistency to employment policies. Recruited and developed top HR talent needed to scale and grow business rapidly.

$32B publicly traded, global innovation company with 90K employees in 70 countries. Acquired Capital Safety in 2015. Led US-wide industrial relations project, including the development of new KPI to measure unionization threats across 100 US manufacturing and distribution sites.  Utilized by CEO to handle most sensitive, high-level employee investigations.  Process owner for US job elimination process, to include both individual release and mass reduction processes.

Appointed as executive business partner to 2 key client groups - Industrial Mineral Products Division and Operations for all divisions of the Safety & Graphics Business Group. Served as operating committee member for both clients. First employee from the Capital Safety acquisition to be promoted out of the acquired entity.  Developed and delivered on HR strategies in 2016 and 2017 contributing to division vastly exceeding operating plan income contributions.  Assisted with on-going integration activities of Capital Safety into the Personal Safety Division.

Management team’s collective mission was to grow the business, expand margins, and sell business. HR’s contribution was to win near-term talent war with 3M despite location disadvantage. Reported to CEO and to NA President.  Key member of executive management team responsible for 2 successful private equity exits in 2011 and 2015. Grew value of business from $1.12B to $2.5B in under 4 years.  Led efforts with BOD to completely re-staff c-suite.  Led HR diligence and subsequent integration of 3 acquisitions in Brazil, Colombia, and US.  Championed efforts to turn around employee health and safety program resulting in 3 consecutive Governor’s Safety Awards. Leveraged safety program results and Chamber of Commerce’s Manufacturer of the Year awards in employer branding campaign.  Administered experimental employee equity program now used widely by KKR as an engagement device.

$2.2B Denmark-based medical device company dedicated to improving quality of life for patients with intimate health care needs. Coloplast acquired Mentor Corporation’s Urology division in the first months of assignment. Senior-most HR professional in the acquired organization. Primary focus was integration. Promoted to lead the Vadnais Heights facility through a plant closure and to ensure adequate safety stock build up to support the production equipment move to China. Led the most successful shutdown of a manufacturing plant in Coloplast’s 60-year history. Shattered production records while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Set 3 highest weekly output records in plant history.  Obtained dislocated worker benefits for workforce.  Responsible for Coloplast’s largest US value stream and America’s largest manufacturer of intermittent urinary catheters. Exceeded finished goods inventory ramp-up goals by 36%.

Founder of T&D department tasked with the professional growth of Global Operation's entire US workforce. Focused heavily on implementing Coloplast's first LMS, called C-SPELL (Coloplast Self-Paced e-Learning Library).

Responsible for leadership of the HR function for Global Operations in the US. Primary focus was the cultural integration of Mentor Urology into Coloplast.

Responsible for leading the HR function for the Minnesota and Wisconsin sites of Mentor Urology. After the June 2006 acquisition by Coloplast, I was also responsible for operations in Georgia.

Now known as Kerry Group, this 240-employee operation in Blue Earth, MN develops and manufactures high-tech food ingredients and products for major brand-name cereal, snack and prepared food product companies.

ConAgra Foods makes many leading brands, including: Healthy Choice, Chef Boyardee, Egg Beaters, Hebrew National, Hunt’s, Orville Redenbacher’s, PAM, and Banquet, among others. Their consumer brands are found in 97% of U.S. households and 24 are ranked first or second in their category. The Wells, MN facility employed 220 employees and was a further processor of deli meats. The site was represented by the UFCW and the Teamsters.
