About Bruce Lett
Not counting my juvenile years as the ‘farm-fixer’, I’ve over three decades of ‘qualified’ experience across the agricultural, motoring, utility and media industries. Really do enjoy problem solving; mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues. I have been self-employed for about half my working career and employed for the remainder. In my current job with ESB Networks I look after the supply, maintenance and inspection of Lifting, Climbing and Lashing equipment for Network Technicians working in Waterford, Clonmel, Dungarvan, Enniscorthy and Arklow. It’s a nice job. And just for fun, I run two Facebook pages. Emergency and Special Vehicles - feeds my own interest in 4x4, fire, ambulance, utility, agricultural vehicles and more. Massey Ferguson - Project 35 - Started out with me refurbishing and modernising the farm’s MF35 tractor. Refurbishment has stalled but following all things legacy related to the Massey Ferguson brand has filled that void. (I will get back to finishing the tractor…..)
Listed skills include Agricultural Machinery, Tractor, Agriculture, Machinery, and 13 others.

Agricultural Machinery & Motoring Contributor/Tester/Photographer
Self-employed agricultural machinery & to a lesser extent, motoring contributor - writing about general agricultural machinery, advertorials plus product testing and more..... for Farming Independent initially then the Irish Farmers Journal. I also take all my own photos (see below). The amount of product testing, in particular group-testing for the Irish Farmers Journal has steadily been increasing. This is where we get a group of the leading machines on-market and put them together in as near as possible identical conditions and review their performance. The results provide readers with an insight into what a machine can offer and hopefully valuable advice. The majority of machinery testing takes place on my family farm which I am actively involved in. On farm enterprises include tillage, cattle and horses. This provides a potential test base for a broad range of agricultural machinery and equipment. We recently did a large 4X4 vehicle & crew-cab pick-up group test also based on the farm. This included road-going with a loaded catle trailer to evaluate each 4x4 performance on-road. And also a field section to examine each vehilcles 4x4 characteristics.
