Profile bio

About Bruce Lock

I have been building complex solutions for 30 years, sometimes even giving people what they want.As an AI enthusiast and serial entrepreneurd, I recently started a Master's degree in cybersecurity because: Hey, I was bored. Then OpenAI came out with ChatGPT and I'm not bored anymore! My current focus is developing a new methodology to replace Agile that uses AI. Basically, the intersection of Value-driven (metrics), Product-aligned (integrating IT and business) is what you need to do to build the models and maths needed to drive an AI. The design is to build up a hierarchy (Think Maslow like) structure that allows you to swap out "rule sets" (laws, company guidelines, NFR and Architectural guidelines) that are used to do tasks and evaluate results. Initial studies sem to show a 50% savings in the cost of delivery and an 80% saving in the time to develop.I have a passion for delivering amazing solutions. I don't know why, even when I was a young kid, the other kids were running around shooting one another, I was soldering random pieces of metal together. Much to my father's distress. You know there was always that kid in school who insisted on building his own, including the speakers when other people were buying new stereos. That was me.Around 2010 I moved out of building startups and into larger organisations. Partially to better meet my family's needs, I also wanted to find bigger, more complex problems to solve.Since then I have worked in the large corporate sector, mainly telcos and banks. I joined Infosys a few years ago, thereby completing my journey from working in 2 person startups to a 300,000-employee behemoth.I have learned the balance of drive versus risk, having run several long-term innovation campaigns and seen simple ideas that cost a few hours to build take off, and well-researched market opportunities delivered to crickets. This is why I follow the agile disciplines of show don't tell, get it out early, and test the bejesus out of everything. And why I am focused on security. In our current market environment where the pressure is to release things constantly and early, it needs to be done right.

Listed skills include Management, New Business Development, Business Development, Solution Selling, and 32 others.

EQS is a best practice division of Infosys. We focus on efficiencies, lean and agile processes, and the practical hands-on day-to-day tasks needed to deliver our clients reliable, functional, and affordable solutions. As the practice lead, I am primarily responsible for revenue in the southwest region of EQS. And the success of our client programs. My client-facing responsibilities include application design, architecture, and overall solution design for large-scale programs.I have also been running an internal change and innovation campaign. Building, designing, and demonstrating a series of AI prototypes. Conducting experiments in process and methodology re-engineering. And working on team topologies, tooling, and skills transition planning. We are now working to bring those programs to our clients. To scale the 50%, and in many cases greater increases in productivity we observed into a new and enhanced delivery methodology.Of course; the challenges now are not technology, AI capabilities, legalities, or scale. We know which ones work. We know what project will be effective. We know how to realise these savings and benefits. Now it's the age-old issue of people and change. So that's my role now: AI Evangelist inside of Infosys. Working with teams up to the CTO to define new ways of working inside our organisation.Working with customers to understand and realise programs that bring forward savings and commercial competitiveness. And working with my people to help them understand the new skills they need to acquire. Their priorities, and their opportunities.
