Responsibilities:• Maintain, support and develop the Group financial consolidation system, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for consolidated reporting for over 200 companies in 21 countries with 350 users.• Lead the global rollout of a centralised and automated daily revenue reporting solution (TM1 Strategic).Achievements:• Designed and built the Group’s financial consolidation system, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) on time and on budget for initially weekly flash reporting and monthly management accounts and since developed this application to become the key central financial reporting tool for Merlin for all group reporting processes (ie. weekly flash reporting, budgeting, EBITDA forecasting, business plan, capital spend reporting, cash forecasting, HR KPI's).• Led a joint Finance/IT project to design and build a new automated daily revenue reporting solution using SQL, SSRS and TM1. This has currently been rolled out across all 28 attractions in Midway North America.• Rebuilt Hyperion Enterprise (the Group's first financial consolidation system) following the acquisition of the Tussauds Group to incorporate the new reporting requirements of the enlarged Group.

Responsibilities:• Produce all consolidated financial reporting for the Group including management accounts, statutory accounts, flash reports, budgets and business plans.• Ensure profit and loss budgets, working capital and capex are properly controlled for all companies under Corporate control.Achievements:• Built a new Excel consolidation process for the Group (60 companies) following the acquisition of LEGOLAND Parks.• Designed and built the first financial consolidation system for Merlin (Hyperion Enterprise) to replace Excel.• Reduced the completion time of the Group management accounts by one week.• Integrated the acquisition of LEGOLAND Parks, Gardaland and The Tussauds Group into the Group’s reporting processes including the configuration of Hyperion Enterprise for acquisition accounting.• Passed external year end audit for Corporate companies with no audit adjustments or issues.• During my time in this role the Chief Financial Officer commented "that the quality of the group management accounts now being produced were the highest in his 8 years as CFO".

Responsibilities:• Produce monthly consolidated management accounts for the Group.• Supervise all UK Accounting department functions (7 staff)Achievements:• Persuaded senior management to purchase Hyperion Enterprise for the production of management and statutory accounts.• Implemented control checks to improve integrity of the existing Excel consolidation process.• Implemented monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all UK companies.• Coached cash officer to reconcile weekly all UK bank and till float accounts.

Responsibilities:• Produce monthly management accounts and annual business plans for the location.• Supervise all Accounting department functions (4 staff)Achievements:• Implemented JD Edwards Manufacturing Accounting in particular designing all the automatic accounting instructions.• Ensured location successfully passed its first internal audit in five years despite just implementing JD Edwards. • Reduced completion time of monthly management accounts from 5 days to 3 days.• Implemented activity based costing (ABC) project to calculate more accurate hourly production overhead rates to reflect how departments spent their time.• Designed Excel budget process to collect and aggregrate departmental budgets.• Implemented pivot tables in Excel for sales and expenditure reporting.• Implemented intranet web page for reporting of accounting information.
