Depot Manager 2012 – 2013 Responsible for Facilities and Operations Management for the Afghan National Army Supply Depot. Managed countrywide Distribution Center for all Afghan Army supplies and equipment. Developed procedures for shipping, receiving and inventory management, to successfully manage over 32 million individual items transitioning through the D/C to the end user. Executed a transition plan to transfer all materials, equipment and rolling stock from Depots (1) and (2), to the Afghan Central Supply Depot. Coordinated with the Afghan Army ground transportation unit (CMA) and commercial carriers to effect the transition. Coordinated final inspection and preparation for transfer of all rolling stock. Continual implementation of process improvements and efficiencies. Developed working relationships with the customer. Ensured compliance with the SOP, Performance Work Statement and all Afghan Decrees.

Yard Manager 2011 - 2012Responsible for managing the Afghan National Army Supply Depot.• Container Management: Developed a container matrix and a planography to identify by number, location, size, condition and customer. Removed all unserviceable containers from the Yard. Developed an in-house tracking system for all in-gate/out-gate movement of containers. Reconfigured the yard to accommodate an additional 800 containers. Consolidated all like product containers into functional inventory rows. • Inventory and movement control: Consolidated “pure packed” product into containers to create storage space. Created velocity pick zones and a dead stock zone for product disposition. Managed ongoing inventories/cycle counts and ensured all findings were reflected in CoreIMS. Developed and implemented new order fulfillment processes and bulk issue procedures from overflow lot to Depot 1. Mentored the Afghan National Army in all aspects of the daily operations associated with the Depot. Oversaw Six Sigma project to develop flow charts and position descriptions for each section to capitalize on available manpower and create efficiencies.

Developed van, refrigerated and frozen load procedures for the fleet. Initiated ongoing mandatory safety and procedural training for all drivers. Improved compliance to 100% on national, state, and local regulations, thereby fully meeting all DOT driver and equipment safety standards. Realized significant cost reductions through: Fuel and route optimization; energy efficient equipment enhancements, floating driver pay scale pegged to fuel conservation, performance, and driver initiatives; pre-purchase spec of all new equipment; and negotiated fuel card contracts.
