Three significant and distinct events led Bruce Morrow to where he is today. The first was his childhood discovery of the Muppets and his long-held conviction that he would have made a great puppeteer. The second was a note from the author Ann Beattie on a college essay he wrote, saying it was nice to see somebody being funny on purpose. He still is. Sometimes. The third was his and his wife’s pursuit of the ministry, which they decided to delay for a year. That delay is now in its 45th season. These events represent a perfect Bermuda Triangle of personality quirks, spinning out a communication guy with imagination, humor, and purpose. What else could he do for a living? Other than public-access cable, not much.A writer by trade, Bruce studied under a number of award-winning writers at UVA, including Pulitzer Prize winner James Alan McPherson, PEN/Malamud Award winner Ann Beattie, and National Book Award winner John Casey. In addition, Bruce once made a pot of grits for Pulitzer Prize winner Peter Taylor. Taylor complimented him on the grits; however, he stopped short of calling them “award-winning.”Bruce has spent more than 45 years in the communications business, helping companies and their leaders with strategy and tactical execution of internal and external communication campaigns; incentives and brand initiatives; and targeted content for meetings, conferences, and customer events. He specializes in communication strategy, production design, creative direction, business and speech writing, executive coaching, and presentation development.
