After several years learning from and representing IBM in the marketplace, I launched a Supplies Division at a computer hardware software company. In 1984 founded Bits and Bytes. SportswriterTulsa World 1976 - 1988As a college student, took part time job covering high school, college and pro sports. Over the next 12 years, I was paid to witness a lot of sporting events. It was a great time, and I witnessed some great players and games including Waymon Tisdale's first HS game as a stringbean 6'4" sophomore at Booker T. Washington. He had a silky soft shooting touch, and rejected 6 shots and had well over 10 rebounds. A pretty impressive coming out party.Luckily I was assigned the Enid Plainsmen games when they road tripped to Tulsa, and witnessed Mark Price during both his junior and senior year. Great high school player? Yep. Did I project what kind of success he would have in College? [ As true freshmen at Georgia Tech, he led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in scoring. That would be impressive on its own; but even moreso when the ACC happened to be the league where Michael Jordan and James Worthy bounced the ball. Not bad for the little church boy from Enid Oklahoma.] -
