About Bruce Olson

He is the former chair of the RQN Tax Section and specializes in nonprofit/exempt organizations and federal/state tax disputes. He has chaired and been a member of numerous IRS Councils and liaison groups and was the principal author of Utah's Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act. He is a fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel. He has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Controversy-Tax, Non-Profit/Charities Law and Tax Law, and was Utah Tax Lawyer of the Year in 2013. The Utah State Bar also named him Tax Practitioner of the Year in 2001. He maintains an AV Preeminent (5.0) rating with Martindale-Hubbell, and has been selected for inclusion in the Mountain States Super Lawyers publication and Utah "Legal Elite" (as published in Utah Business Magazine) in the category of Nonprofit Law. He is married, with six children, and is a retired Colonel in the US Army Reserve.
