As Principal and Team Lead of the Human Environment Group at Amec Foster Wheeler E&I he provides senior technical review and technical input on socio-economic impact assessments, effects monitoring and management plans in western and northern Canada, the United States, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. In addition, he provides leadership, mentorship and technical guidance to the human environment team in Calgary and other offices in Canada. He has extensive experience in land and resource use assessments and the design and implementation of public and stakeholder engagement programs. His project experience includes energy transportation, conventional and unconventional oil and natural extraction and processing and base and precious metal mine developments. In addition, his responsibilities include client relations and business development.Prior to becoming a Principal and Team Lead, he was a Senior Consultant and Manager of the Human Environment Group at AMEC E&I in Calgary from 2002 to 2004. During that period he lead a human environment team in preparation of a socio-economic impact assessment for a large oil and natural gas liquids pipeline in Canada and smaller pipeline projects in western Canada. As manager of the human environment group he was also responsible for recruitment, management, co-ordination and administration of the group.

As principal at Ramsay and Associates for 18 years I provided specialized consulting services to a wide range of private sector clients that included petroleum, petrochemical, mining, pipeline and forestry companies as well as public sector clients that included the Goverments of Canada, Alberta and British Columbia. Specialized consulting services for the private sector included socio-economic impact assessment and monitoring, non traditional land and resource use assessments and the design and implementation of public consultation, stakeholder and Aboriginal engagement and expert witness testimony for resource development corporations seeking government regulator approvals for projects in Canada, the United States and abroad. Work undertaken for public sector agencies included tourism and agricultural studies and the design, coordination and facilitiation of public and stakeholder consultation processes (conferences, workshops, open houses, focus groups, telephone and personal interviews)associated with government programs, policiies and new initiatives.

As senior Human Environment Specialist he was a member of a multi-disciplinary techical team that provided environmental and social services to clients in the mining, petroleum and utilities sectors in western and northern Canada, Alaska and the Pacific Northwest in the United States. Bruce specialized in socio-economic impact and non-traditional land and resource use assessments, public consultation, stakeholder and Aborigiinal engagement and expert witness testimony at public hearings during regulatory approvals of resource development projects.
