Senior Management Consultant
Typical client engagements have involved major organizational transformation, with my role as principal subject matter expert and/or project manager. I have routinely participated in the company’s business development proposal and proposal writing activities. At the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Human Resource and Administration I led the stand-up and operation of a program management office (PMO) for the $300M/year Human Capital Investment Program. I led the Risk Assessment Work Group and made substantial contributions to planning the implementation of risk management throughout HR&A. I routinely interacted with SES/GS15 level VA staff as a mentor to plan future FY budgets. I conducted requirements workshops, project management training, and IV&V of requirements packages. For a Government Financial Institution I performed a variety of assessments related to a very large enterprise software development program; advising senior management on alternative strategies. For a large mortgage firm I directed a team in the analysis of as-is processes for three business functions, defined a new process-driven Operating Model incorporating the mortgage firm, Department of the Treasury, and a government oversight agency. Conducted process definition workshops with clients, developed to-be process models, and trained client management staff. The clients unanimously adopted the resulting to-be processes. At the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center I was Project Manager for organizational re-structuring, centralization, physical re-location, and workload transfer support for 60,000 mariner licenses per year. For Thermo-Fisher Scientific I managed two projects on the Advanced Spectroscopic Portal program, leading a team developing the Variant H & Variant L designs, developed integrated master schedules, and cost proposals for non-recurring engineering and production units.
