As a Business Analyst in the Applications Support Team, my functions are many and varied. I support the day to day usage of the major software packages in use at Rocky Bay. This has required an innate knowledge of CMS (for client management), Payroll and HR packages and others. Successful working relationships with Users and Stakeholders is crucial in identifying and rectifying perceived problems .But mainly my focus, as a Business Analyst, has been in partaking in the very successful development of new strategies for advanced reporting and analytics. Why is this important? Advanced reporting and analytics has been crucial in navigating Rocky Bay's business model, as a disability services provider, from the local state funded model to the newer federal funded model of NDIS.The knowledge delivered by the development of Analytics (as opposed to data) has been well received by workers, stakeholders and executive. It has contributed to greater efficiencies within Rocky Bay in preparation for a higher successful reliance on NDIS. This successful journey will continue as the advanced reporting and analytics continues to deliver further insights and knowledge of business trends to be incorporated into better business decisions.

As a Business Analyst I am a member of the Applications Support Team. My role mainly consists of Level 3 support, that is is say, support and resolution of major issues that may arise from Brightwater's usage of its software stack. Within Brightwater (a not-for-profit Aged Care organisation) there are five major applications to support. This includes a major Financials system, a Staff Rostering system, a Careplan Management system and more, as well as many smaller programs including Sharepoint, MSOffice and Business Intelligence (using the Microsoft BI Stack). Therefore this position of Business Analysts really entails a constant liaison with Brightwater Stakeholders, Software Vendors, Users and Management to keep the software stack delivering as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Resolution of new issues and User help are the main requirements. When executed within the framework of Brightwater's systems and procedures, the requirement has been met very successfully.
