Our next target is 30,000 members and a Friday email to 100,000 Coast supporters (Its 33,000 at present) as we continue our small contribution to helping build a sustainable West Coast tourism sector.

Promote the proposed Toll road between Haast and Hollyford. “It is exciting to know that within two months we will see a group of engineers who will visit, and our American investor partners who are part of the JCP group will be in the country as well.”“I recently organised and attended a public meeting in Te Anua where over 260 locals turned up to express vocal support for this project. I have addressed numerous smaller local groups. I'm organising meetings in all towns on the West Coast, continuing to bring the public up-to-date with progress.”“I've had tremendous support from Maureen Pugh for a number of years and she has indicated that she will continue to work to encourage investment on the West Coast. I like what Tim Shadbolt has said on a number of occasions “when we promote a project the screamers and knockers come out to tell us why it won't work”, and we just get on with it. When the project is complete the screamers and knockers go very quiet.”“I'm proud to be promoting this project, whose time has come along with Blakely’s expertise to build the road and JCP partners with the financial capability to fund the road long term, and the people of Southland and Westland who have come in behind this project in such a positive way that will guarantee its success.”
