Bruce Thomson is a professional biologist with over 30 years of experience across a range of scientific disciplines relating to flora and fauna management and research in the Northern Territory, Queensland and NSW.He has specialist skills in bat conservation and management, particularly in targeted survey work for EVNT's, having been party to development of many of the C'th survey guidelines for these species. In Queensland he has worked with the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Dept of Natural Resources and Mines on the conservation management of abandoned mines. His interests in bats and mines has also taken him to the USA where he investigated many of the State-sponsored programs to manage abandoned and historic mine sites for safety and conservation. He is affiliated as an Industry Fellow with the University of Queensland’s Centre for Mine Site Rehabilitation.Other professional interests include:.
