Wright has more than thirty years of experience in community and economic development, community and public relations, public policy and government affairs. Wright was the Associate Vice President for Tech Parks Arizona at the University of Arizona where he was responsible for the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park (UA Tech Park) , UA Tech Park at the Bridges and the Arizona Center for Innovation. He was also co-founder of three high technology start-up companies, Arizona Microsystems and Focal Point Microsystems, and Lumoflex. He has worked many years on developing cross-border trade between Arizona and Mexico. He helped developed a bi-national regional economic development plan for several governors of Arizona and Sonora. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC) and is a member of the Arizona Transportation and Trade Corridor Alliance (TTCA). Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Wright served as chief of staff to Arizona Congressman Morris K. Udall and a staff consultant to the US House of Representatives Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs. Wright currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Senior Academy, and Davis Montana Air Base Desert Thunder Squadron. He is a member of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Citizens Advisory Committee, and Greater Tucson Leadership Alumni Advisory Council.
