WHO I AMI am a career coach who uses my management and human resource experiences to educate and assist people in their careers. My employment at Nielsen, Synovate, and Staples empowered me to develop human capital skills through interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring. My passion is helping individuals during their job search and inspiring confidence.HOW I STARTED Although I started helping people in their job search long ago, my path officially began with Harper College’s Career Stimulus program in 2010. I started designing and conducting LinkedIn training classes for the program and its extension office. Concurrently, I started volunteering at the McHenry County Workforce Network (MCWN) to conduct mock interviews and an occasional presentation for their job club.WHAT I DOThe job search process can be complex and intimidating, especially for those individuals who have worked at the same company for several years. My approach is to educate people through the process from resume creation to interviewing. Often, a person performs their job and does not take time to evaluate what they actually can do or conduct a self-analysis for their transferable skills. I can help you understand your capabilities and help you along a career path. HOW I CAN HELP YOUI have helped hundreds of people in their journey to a new job. The adage ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ applies to job search. If you are using the same resume while applying for jobs online, you will likely never receive a callback. I can show you how to improve your resume to increase the number of callbacks when applying online. If you break into a cold sweat when confronted with the “tell me about yourself” statement, let me help you define what it is you bring to the table. I can help you articulate your capabilities during an interview.Sharing my knowledge has always been important, and in 2018 I started producing the Internet Job Seeker Series for the MCWN. Additionally, I present job search topics for public libraries and job clubs. LinkedIn started in 2003 and I have been using it since 2006. Teaching people to use the many features that LinkedIn offers is my forte. Many elements make a profile stand out from the rest. I identify areas that need action and improvement to market yourself for your career and/or job search. I can meet with you in person, by phone, or virtually using Zoom if you need help focusing on your career or job search to direct your efforts in the right direction.LET’S CONNECT Connect with me on LinkedIn or contact me at 815-302-9552.

Executive Vice President (Linkedin Training | Career Counseling | Coaching & Mentoring)Bruce A Bennett Consulting May 2007 - PresentGreen Bay Metro Area, Wisconsin, UsCurrently, I design and conduct the Internet Job Seeker Series for the McHenry County Workforce Network. This monthly series features 4 modules on job search topics such as resumes, applying online, interviewing, and LinkedIn. The sessions are free and registration is easy for anyone and provides great resources for the person in a job search. I volunteer at the MCWN to provide LinkedIn Critiques when someone requests the service.Additionally, I currently contract with the @Arlington Heights Memorial Library to perform reviews of their patron’s resumes and LinkedIn profiles. My goal is to educate their patrons on how to write a compelling resume and make it better for applying to specific job descriptions. There are many job support groups that I have worked with over the years by presenting or co-facilitating meetings. Also, many local libraries have engaged me to present various job search topics. Covid eliminated the in-person events but many have turned to the virtual format for these sessions. My first career transition occurred in 1998 and with the assistance of an outplacement firm, I learned about the job search process. It served me well and I paid it forward in the following years while helping others. I started conducting LinkedIn workshops for Harper College in 2010 and continued to expand my network of job clubs and libraries to educate people about LinkedIn. -
