I work in InfoSec as an I.T. Security Analyst doing a variety of functions which includes working with Splunk and other tools to identify anomalies/notable events, communicating out finding to appropriate teams so they can be resolved, helping team members with third-party risk and evaluating their assessments, assisting in audit preparation, providing guidance/recommendations to project teams and admins on what they need to do to ensure their systems are secure and fall within our risk appetite, participate on our technology committee with I.T. leadership and executive leaders, train team members on cyber security topics.Previous to InfoSec, my main focus is working with our Hyland OnBase Enterprise Content Management. We use this system to fulfill our goal of a paperless office. Even more exciting, this system allows us to create electronic workflows which have made us more efficient and accurate.I am a champion of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and am fortunate enough to be able to work with Linux, Apache, PHP, Python, and MySQL. I also work with other FOSS applications in both the Windows and Linux environments.On the Windows side I work with Microsoft IIS, SQL Server, and various other proprietary systems. I work closely with third party vendors ensuring that our systems are running as required. Furthermore, I work with vendors to improve their software and meet our business needs.I have helped with Information System Auditing using tools provided by third parties as well as those available in the Open Source world. In this function I have worked with my Information Systems team to ensure that any vulnerabilities get fixed. Besides patching, this function has introduced me to the world of regulatory compliance.
