Designed standard process unit monitoring tools to support process model tuning and validation. Developed standard tools to reconcile flow meters and deliver reliable data. Achievements:Upgraded hydroprocessing units to stage gate processes using standard refinery monitoring tools. Developed Hysys and AspenPlus flow sheets with flow meter reconciliation applications to improve data quality. Implemented test run best practices at refinery sites for process model tuning, validation, and site acceptance. Improved summer refinery margins by 71.5 $K/day and winter margins by 57.5 $K/day. Launched pilot plant program to close performance gaps and enhance site acceptance. Designed experiment using available feed sources to test operating conditions and severity ranges. Validated test model with hydrocracking pretreat and FCC hydrotreating catalyst.Designed commercialization model for BP Veba Combi-Cracker. Configured hydroprocessing model to simulate the VCC hydrotreater and validate it with beta from pilot plant and demonstration units. Completed the scale-up of the Veba Combi-Cracker hydrotreater for the technology commercialization design basis. Developed catalyst deactivation application to monitor hydroprocessing processes. Designed Excel interface for prototype to demonstrate refinery usage.

Developed process to saturate benzene for naphtha complex commercial unit operations.Achievements:Supported commercialization of Temperature Control Reactor project. Improved current Oleflex, Pacol, styrene and monomer process models to run in a flow sheet environment and scale up for commercial design.Designed styrene monomer demonstration plant for scale up in TCR mode.Developed integrated process models and automated data interfaces to support commercialization of the C3/C4 process.Prepared yield estimating tools, automated flow sheets and implemented detailed kinetic model to scale up for commercial reactors.Licensed 17 Oleflex units using commercialized technology featuring integrated process modeling, yield and cost estimating, and tools to reduce time and improve reporting for project development. Provided project planning to fast track the Bensat commercialization project. Utilized off the shelf catalyst to design experimental plan to generate data using a simple kinetic model. Created yield estimating tool to deliver Bensat technology using an integrated flow sheet.
