About Bruce Marcell Atencia
With over 17 years of experience in the seismic industry, I have served as a Lead Surveying Engineer, overseeing the acquisition and management of multiple 2D and 3D survey projects both onshore and offshore. My career has taken me across the globe, where I have navigated various datums and logistics in countries including Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Bolivia, Tanzania, Suriname, Brunei, and the USA.My expertise encompasses the complete spectrum of surveying processes, including the processing, drawing, editing, digitization, and cartography of topographical surveys. I have effectively managed scaling projects involving toponymy positioning and utilized a variety of software, such as GPSeismic, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD.Since July 2013, I have been the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator and Data Manager in the Multi-Client department at Geokinetics USA. In this role, I manage the Multi-Client Geodatabase and Geophysical Database, design and build web platforms like SharePoint and the Multi-Client Geokinetics webpage, and maintain all associated data files, maps, and geodatabases. I also oversee data acquisition, formatting, and preparation for industry shows and demonstrations.Since 2019 as a GIS Specialist, I design, create, and maintain the company’s GIS online portal, web maps, and geographic databases using ArcGIS mapping software, including ArcGIS Online and StoryMaps. I provide essential mapping and geodetic support for Operations and Data Management. Additionally, I serve as an Assistant Project Manager & GIS Specialist on the North Dakota CarbonSAFE Project, which explores the potential for permanent CO2 storage using Magnetotelluric (MT) and Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) methods. This project, executed in collaboration with the University of North Dakota and Minnkota Power Cooperative, involves developing and supervising strategies for various geophysical methods, including Shallow Electromagnetic Induction (EMI), Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI), Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR), and Thermal Resistivity for environmental investigations and natural resource exploration.In 2023, I joined the Actus Veritas team to contribute to the development of several geoscientific projects. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, leveraging my diverse skill set to drive success in every endeavor.
