During my time with FFR I developed a strategy to substantially raise the brand’s profile in Canada while managing existing retail and display company accounts. These included Walmart, Loblaws, The Home Depot, Menasha, Artisan Complete, and Holland and Crosby.Through persistent cold calling and networking I built relationships with national chains that led to fact-finding appointments, introductory presentations, product tests, inclusion in tenders, sale closures and ongoing program management. All my activities were documented on Microsoft Dynamics.Through intense business development initiatives I introduced numerous retailers to FFR including Sobeys, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart, Calgary Coop, Federated Coop and Giant Tiger. I also opened accounts with CPGs such as Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble.Product testing was an important part of our business development strategy and I installed and assisted with testing FFR products in stores and lab locations. In order to put forward the most suitable solution I audited retail locations by assessing Plan-O-Grams, shelving systems, signage and graphics programs, cooler units and existing security systems.Other responsibilities included managing tender responses, managing custom solutions and following up on overdue accounts. Finally I worked with FFR’s shipping department to:- Establish DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping protocols,- Develop a quoting and billing format that met our client’s requirements,- Optimize cross-border shipping including 3PL services.

Being a part of a management team that is committed to delivering professional services and innovative products has been a great experience.I worked with retailers, contractors, fabricators and design firms to identify and integrate appropriate applications for McIntyre Group’s warehouse-based, transportation and field installation capabilities.We also added to the product lines available through McIntyre Group, focusing on the value-adding opportunities they offer for new, reconfigured and customized retail environments. Those lines included Swiftspace mobile retail stations, Gondola Skate moving systems, Connectrac wire management systems, NxtWall demountable architectural walls and Aurora high-density storage systems.

Brandid was a division of MacLaren McCann and I was the lead on new business initiatives, developed strategy for clients and managed accounts. One of the great projects I was extensively involved in was the logo for the Toronto Blue Jays. As well, a London Design Award was given to us for our work on behalf of The Mibro Group. We created a compelling brand and look for their BitBull drill bit set.Other clients included Crayola Canada, Eureka Vacuum, Rogers and Seneca Foods.
