I just completed a 11-week leave replacement assignment - leading four 8th-grade Language Arts classes under a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility (CE) at Readington Middle School. I am enrolled in Rutgers Alternate Route Program to attain full Teacher of English certification. It's a later-life career switch and a labor of love. For most of my career, I applied my passion for the English language in numerous genres in business and politics: External and internal communications, social media, 1,000+ speeches and a book with a Congresswoman, video scripts, New York Times op-eds, a healthy living/humor blog, etc., I had always planned to teach English for the final few decades of my career. Last Spring, I was the Coach of the Watchung Hills Regional High School Girls Junior Varsity Golf Team. It was a wonderful tune-up for full-time teaching.I am open to working in public or private schools, within English Language Arts or Humanities more broadly.
